Kimono styles, lengths & sizes
We offer a wide range of beautiful Japanese kimonos for men and women, in two styles: an elegant, full-length Classic Kimono and a mid-length Short Kimono.
A kimono is a stylish alternative to a dressing gown or bathrobe, and is the perfect way to relax at home or on holiday. Our cotton kimonos, silk kimonos and polysatin kimonos are comfortable, loose-fitting robes that can be worn by men and women all year round.
Please note the following differences between the Classic and Short styles:
- The Classic Kimono is full-length with traditional, three-quarter length drop sleeves. It has no pockets or belt loops, allowing the matching belt to be tied at the most convenient position.
- The Short Kimono is mid-length with straight, three-quarter length sleeves and two patch pockets (ladies’ short cotton kimonos only have one pocket). It has no belt loops, allowing the matching belt to be tied at the most convenient position.

Length is measured from base of collar to hem. Some designs are not available in the Short Kimono size, or are only available as a Classic Kimono - please check details before ordering.
A matching 1.5 inch/4 cm sash is included (when you receive your kimono you will find it sewn lightly into one of the sleeves).
Please note that due to variations in computer monitors, colours may not match exactly. We also recommend that your monitor's resolution is set at 1024 x 768.
NIGHTDRESS SIZES
Our traditional Victorian-style nightdresses come in one size but are a generous fit, suitable for UK sizes 12-16. Length measurement for each nightie is given on the respective product pages.
The online catalogue uses UK sizes.
